  1. Seek first to understand and then to be understood
  2. Be interested not interesting
  3. You have two ears and one mouth, listen twice as much as you speak

  7. Words account for 7% of the message you convey so give them 7% of your attention
  8. Give 93% of your attention to your inner thoughts, physiology, voice tone
  9. Stand 3cm taller
  10. Carry a good pen
  11. Make good eye contact
  12. Have an inner dialogue that says I’m OK and you’re OK
  13. Be your word
  14. Show up
  15. Seek to serve not to take
  16. Assess your intention from the primary twin drivers of ‘love’ and fear’ Eliminate fear
  17. If you are selling, get through the no’s quicker
  18. If you are selling – talk to the people, then talk to the people and then talk to the people
  19. Every situation has a win/win outcome, there is no need to ‘win’
  20. The new economy is about community …build yours
  21. Base your relationships on trust
  22. Your network = your net worth. Nurture yours
  23. Be pro-active about building a high net worth network
  24. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know (old cliche but still true)
  25. Nurture yourself
  26. Every day write down everything you are grateful for
  27. Buy a very expensive suit or jacket
  28. Pay attention to grooming and look polished
  29. When making important phone calls stand up
  30. Focus on your outcome not then thing you don’t want
  31. Make your power moves before important meetings whether on-line, in person or on the phone
  32. Ask lots of questions and find out as much as you can about people
  33. Smile
  34. Learn to say no and enjoy saying yes
  35. Decide what you want to be famous for
  36. Under-promise and over-deliver
  37. Up-skill as a coach or a speaker because qualifications (business skills) count less as your career progresses. ‘Who’ you are matters most
  38. Know your values and stick by them
  39. Remember that there is no right and wrong, just differences
  40. Don’t allow yourself to be bullied or undermined
  41. A true leader wants to learn ..always
  42. Remember that people are doing the best that they can with the resources they have
  43. Write a book
  44. Craft and practise your elevator pitch
  45. Craft your time management skills
  46. Make sure that your personal brand is consistent  across all social media
  47. Get coaching. Always
  48. Stay humble
  49. Feed your soul
  50. Be yourself
