The trouble with being ‘right’

I have just completed another extraordinary 2 day event with women leaders from the UK and Europe and an enlightened man from Italy. Everybody gained new distinctions and created a new peer group of high flying A players (ordinary people doing extraordinary things)

We – women in leadership – had a blast! We nailed the concept of Gender Intelligence for Gender Diversity but the overwhelmng call was ‘where are all the men?’ Gender Intelligence is a human issue that affects everyone and we all need to educate ourselves for the 21st Century and beyond.

Sadly, there is still an old world where some believe they are ‘right’ about the inflexible corporate culture we have all become accustomed to.

If you are of the new order, pushing for change, then remember – there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people feel safe around you so BE the change you seek in the world.

Remember also that there is no possibility in being ‘right’ – stay open minded and always willing to learn. If somebody has a different view point to you then be inquisitive – there may be something to learn. You cannot move from a fixed position.
